I've seen some great movie adaptations of books, actually. Here are some that I think were done well:
- The Hunger Games
- About a Boy
- The Hours (maybe Michael Cunningham just adapts well to film?)
- Bridge to Terabithia
- The Help
Fried Green Tomatoes. Much better movie than book.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth is right about Fried Green Tomatoes. Another great adaptation is Forrest Gump.
ReplyDeleteGosh, for some reason which I don't understand I never saw Fried Green Tomatoes! I need to put that on my list of DVDs to watch.
ReplyDeleteForrest Gump, I loved the movie but haven't read the book, so I can't compare. And that one is definitely worth a re-watch with my boys, thanks for reminding me of it.
The Godfather, The First Wives Club
