Natasha of Maw Books Blog is committing the month of September to raising awareness of the atrocities taking place in Darfur. There are many ways to get involved, including spreading the word about the project, reading or viewing one of her recommended books or dvds about Darfur, commenting on Maw Books Blog to raise donations, and donating money for pages read to one of the many relief organizations listed on her blog.
On a smaller scale, blogger Stephanie of The Nienie Dialogues was in a private plane crash with her husband Christian and pilot , leaving their four young children in the care of her sister and brother-in-law (first-time parents of a brand-new baby! Someone should write that book) c.jane, whose blog contains lovely tributes to her currently-expanded family as well as updates on Stephanie's progress. Silent auctions abound across the blog-o-sphere to help pay for the many medical procedures over the next few months. Each auction has its own end-date, many end midnight tonight, or tomorrow, some may be longer. Donations are also accepted.
