Back to the real world

Coming up: Reviews of Guernica, The American Boy's Handy Book, and a kid review of Something Wickedly Weird.

But, for today, there are non-computer things to be done like laundry and errands and grilling brats with my in-laws, so I'll make it quick by finally responding to this meme that Caite tagged me with a week ago!

What is your favorite word? When I'm writing, it seems to be "just." Everything is just going along great, until I go back to revise and find that if I just cut out all the justs I can omit 2-3 pages of text. Which is just what I wanted to do. But some of those justs are just cozy in there and they just don't want to leave.

What is your least favorite word? Meme. What the heck is that? Is it like, "Me! Me!" or is it like the French word for "same?" I pronounce it the French way, in my head. I can't help it.

What turns you on (creatively, spiritually or emotionally)?
This place.
These people.
And all the little critters alive but hidden among the rocks. I could spend half an hour watching a barnacle eat.

What turns you off (creatively, spiritually or emotionally)? Politics.

What sound or noise do you love? My husband playing guitar.

What sound or noise do you hate? Screeching. Especially when the screeching is coming from children. My children, in particular. Fortunately, mine don't screech very much, lately.

What’s your favorite curse word? If I had to choose, I think it'd have to be #$%!@.

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? You mean, besides author? Flight attendant. Cruise ship activities director. Mail carrier.

What profession would you not like to do? Lawyer. Intel worker.

If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? You know, I honestly don't think it'd matter what He said. Or if He said anything. As long as He didn't screech at me.

  1. Thanks for taking the time..I must say I rather dislike 'tagging' someone, but what can you do...lol

  2. No problem. That was my first (and possibly only) meme ever...which maybe explains why I forgot to tag anyone.
